Greetings from South Carolina!
You may know me from my other blog, Magnolia's Place, where
I share my love of scrapbooking and rubber stamping. This blog, Magnolia’s Place For
Faith, represents my journey of faith, where I'll share bits of inspiration,
Bible Study and love of Christ. I write to share my reflections about what God is teaching me through Bible Study and life experiences. I want to inspire other women to seek God's purpose in their lives and to learn how to better listen to his Spirit.
I'm a retired teacher and I live in the South with my husband, and a wonderful Australian Shepherd. We have one grown
son. We're
members of St. John's United
Methodist Church. It's such a blessing to be part of such an amazing church family.
A couple years ago, I was thinking of my Spiritual Gifts and
how I might use them to do more for St. Johns.
I had one of those moments of clarity, the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart
telling me it can be something small.
Think of your gifts… I am creative and artistic, so I've incorporated my Spiritual
Gifts and creative talent into my church life by developing a Card Ministry.
This group creates hand-made greeting cards for the Church to use for: Shut-ins,
Get Well, Senior Birthdays, New Babies, Sympathy, Thank You etc. We’ve even
make prayer cards for the Ministers to hand out and for those who come to our
Grace Kitchen for a meal. The ladies in the Card Ministry have become friends
and have been such a blessing to each other. You know, any time women get together
they talk right? Through our time together we’ve had the opportunity to laugh
and pray for one another, surgeries, loss and celebrations too! This type of
caring for one another is part of any small community that is formed when
people get together. It has truly been a way to add to our spiritual growth. We
even have ladies who belong to other churches come because they love to create
and want to share.
God Bless,
Carole
